David Harlan has been an actor in film, television and radio for 15 years and a professional stage actor for 25 years. His extensive list of radio commercials includes voice work for such clients as Mercedes Benz, McDonald’s, Philips 66, Conn’s, the Texas Lottery, Coastal Banc, CPS Energy and others; but his voice is most familiar as the sardonic astronaut for Time-Warner and Comcast cable. His on-camera commercial work includes appearances for Centerpoint Energy, the Texas Lottery, Randall’s and Blue Bell Ice cream among many others, including a series of spots for Westside Tennis Club which won a 2004 Addy Award. He idolized Mel Blanc from a very young age and, over the years, has developed a wide range of character voices, accents and dialects, but the more important lesson learned from Blanc was that while it’s one thing to be able to do funny voices, you need to be a skilled actor to back it up.
He spends his spare time looking for things he just put down a second ago.
