Linda Ellerbee
Linda Ellerbee is a nationally recognized no-nonsense journalist. She began her career as a journalist at CBS and then moved to NBC where she covered national politics for several years. She eventually came to create, co-write, and anchor NBC News Overnight, named the most intelligent news program ever by the duPont Columbia Awards.
She moved to ABC in 1986 and began to anchor and write Our World, a historical news series for which she won an Emmy. She co-founded Lucky Duck Productions in 1987, which began producing documentaries for PBS and eventually produced Nickelodeon's Nick News, which Ellerbee writes and anchors. This revolutionary program broke down the barriers between kids and the discussion of national news and is watched by more children than any other news programs combined. The show has won three Peabody Awards and seven Emmys.
Ellerbee continues to anchor the Nick News specials and travels around the country speaking about her career and, closer to her heart, dealing with breast cancer, which she survived in 1992. Ellerbee travels from New York and is available for speaking engagements, appearances, and endorsements.
Archie Manning
Another legendary inspirational speaker contracted through PB Talent is Archie Manning. The father of current football greats Peyton and Eli, Manning is a football legend in his own right. He played college football at Ole Miss, walking footsteps Eli would eventually follow. As quarterback, he played in the first nationally televised college football game, where he set the SEC record for the most total yards in a game: 432, which is still tied today.
After college at Ole Miss, he was drafted in the NFL second overall to the New Orleans Saints. While the Saints remained one of the worst teams in the League during his ten-season stint there, Manning was still able to become statistically great. He led the league in passes attempted and completed in 1972 and was named the NFC Player of the Year in 1978, which was also the first of two consecutive years he was selected to the Pro Bowl. After leaving the Saints, Manning played his final two seasons with the Houston Oilers and Minnesota Vikings, respectively. At the end of his football career, his record was in the top 20 of all-time passing yards in the NFL.
Manning remains a football staple as a regular contributor to the Saints' radio and television broadcasts as well as CBS Sports Football. He travels from Louisiana and is available for endorsements, appearances, and speaking engagements.
